Appeals
The American system of justice is the best in the world, but, as with every system that involves humans, it is not perfect. If your trial did not go your way, you have the right to appeal your case to higher court. You need someone who will review your entire case, and find the errors that were made and appeal them for you. Time is of the essence in appeals because you only have thirty days from the end of your trial to exercise your right to appeal.
Writs
Writs are typically used for two purposes.
- To attack a conviction after a direct appeal has failed or cannot be pursued.
- To complain of being detained because of an oppressively high bond amount.
